This module contains a Melexis MLX90614 Digital Infrared Thermometer. An IR thermometer allows you to take the temperature of an object without touching it. This allows you to take the temperature of something that is too hot, too cold, too wet, or chemically incompatible with the sensor and its electronics. These thermometers are very useful and also a lot of fun.

The board contains an EFM32ZG108 Gecko low power microcontroller and two RS232 serial ports allowing it to be daisy chained in a network. Pre-Programmed for use in an openHAB Home Automation system or can be Re-Programmed for other uses.
