Reflective Object Sensor with EFM Processor and Dual RS232 Interfaces

This module contains two QRE1113 Reflective Object Proximity Sensors. The QRE1113 has an Infrared LED and a Photo-Transistor. When an object gets near, enough light is reflected back to the photo-transistor which causes the output to change. The two sensors are 14mm or 0.55" apart allowing direction of movement to be detected. The LED may be switched off and on by the microcontroller and sampled at a lower rate to save power. 

The module also contains an EFM32ZG108 Gecko low power microcontroller and two RS232 serial ports allowing it to be daisy chained in a network. Pre-Programmed for use in an openHAB Home Automation system or can be Re-Programmed for other uses.
