Magnetic Reed Switch Sensors with EFM Processor and Dual RS232 Interfaces

This module contains two magnetic reed switches. Reed switches are simply a switch that is controlled by a magnet. Reed switches require no power to operate so they are great for low power applications. The two reed switches on this module are separated by 21.6mm (0.85") so that movement can be detected in some applications. These are great to monitor if doors or windows are open or closed or other security system operations.

The module also contains an EFM32ZG108 Gecko low power microcontroller and two RS232 serial ports allowing it to be daisy chained in a network. Pre-Programmed for use in an openHAB Home Automation system or can be Re-Programmed for other uses.
