MQTT Installation Instructions

We use the Mosquitto MQTT broker for communication in our home automation systems. MQTT is a messaging protocol where devices can publish messages and subscribe to messages. It is a light weight protocol that is usable with devices that have small memory footprints and less powerful CPUs.

The Mosquitto broker is supported on Linux, Windows, and OSX. The Linux version can run on Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone, Odroid, and other single board computers.
